About Native Roots
Our passion is to restore sterile turf monocultures into healthy, sustainable, diverse habitats that people and animals can enjoy.
After working multiple years in the landscape industry, I felt there was something missing in the methods used by traditional landscape companies. The purpose of plants in the home landscape is not only for human pleasure and aesthetics, but those plants provide for all life especially insects, birds and mammals. We have lost our connection to the land and indirectly broken an important component of our ecosystem. Plants are the basis for all life. If native insects are not eating our plants, then animals further up in the food web do not have food to sustain themselves. We need native plants in our landscapes, on all scales, if we want to support all life.
